Community Accounting

Community Accounting is delivered in partnership with Massey University's School of Accounting.

Community Accounting is a free service for community groups in Palmerston North to help you confidently get on top of your finances, from understanding your day-to-day accounts, through to preparing end of year reports.

We will assign a team of hard-working and enthusiastic accounting students to work with your group for around eight weeks improving your systems, getting your books in order for funding applications and helping you understand your accounts. Students are supervised by Chartered Accountants and have access to specialist community advisers. We have two intakes per year, year in February and June. Spaces are limited.

We help community groups such as:

  • charities
  • sports clubs
  • hobby groups
  • churches
