Palmerston North Community Services Council, Sharing Strengths - empowering community
Te Rūnanga Ratonga ā-Hapori O Papaioea, Te Whakawhanaunga te Whakamana Hapori

The Community Services Council was officially formed in 1971.  It’s development and history tell an interesting story.  Ever since this time the Community Services Council has provided support for many Palmerston North based organisations.

The Community Services Council is guided by principles of equity, empowerment, access and equality for residents of the Palmerston North region in accordance with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.  The culture of the Community Services Council is very important to us, and is reflected in our vision, mission, values and principles.  The Community Services Council constitution is our founding document.

The structure of the Community Services Council is made up of the Membership, the Collective, a Manager, Administrator and a Programme Leader.  The Collective is elected from the Membership, and is delegated various responsibilities by the Membership.  The Manager, Administrator and Programme Leader are the office based employees of the Community Services Council and are responsible for the day to day management of the Community Services Council, which includes coordinating services to members and the wider community.  A Treasurer is also employed annually to undertake the financial business of the Community Services Council, in conjunction with the Manager, Administrator, Programme Leader and the Collective.

The Community Services Council wishes to thank the Palmerston North City Council for their ongoing support of this organisation.
